Critical Reflection

The biggest takeaway for from this module was being able to accomplish the goals I have set for myself in the beginning of the trimester. My goal for this module was to obtain the necessary skillsets to become an effective and confident communicator since one of my greatest weaknesses was public speaking. On the first day of lesson, I remembered coming into class all nervous and not knowing what to expect from this module and Professor Brad asked me to stand up and share my thoughts/ views with the class. I was so nervous about being judged by everyone for giving answers that did not make sense because I was not able to put my thoughts to words and perhaps maybe they did. However, over the subsequent weeks, I was able to learn how to think critically with the help of tools such as Pyramid Principle of critical thinking and the Paul-Elder framework, unlearn the typical grammatical mistakes that I have been making and relearn my presentation styles. I was given countless number of opport

According to Lecomte (2019), the real estate industry needs a proper certification program for innovative technology prone to hacking and cyberattacks to minimize risks. Lecomte states that a "smart building should have common standards" and metrics similar to green buildings. Lecomte states that in the current context, there are no official international standards for intelligent buildings. Therefore, developers can only rely on the "Honeywell Smart Building Score (HSBS)" as they are one of the well-known corporate indicators in this field. Formal Letter

Dear Professor Brad, I am Jane Lin, a year one student from one of your effective communication classes. I am writing this letter in hopes of allowing you to know me better.  I graduated from Temasek Polytechnic with a diploma in integrated facility management. I was actively involved in the diploma’s interest club as a main-committee member, in the publicity department. My responsibilities mainly consisted of bringing the latest updates to everyone and promoting unity within the diploma. My interests in engineering progressively developed as I was given plenty of opportunities to meet professionals in the facilities management industry. It was to my surprise that I saw the beauty of engineering through all these experiences. One of my communication strengths is the ability to converse with people in small groups. I am an outgoing person and I enjoy the process of getting to know the people around me. I used to attend social events such as faculty camps where students from differen
